He’s probably going to have brachytherapy.

  3. Wishing you successful treatment and a speedy recovery, Lou.

Maybe Lou should team up with Uncle Charlie who recently beat prostate cancer and has been working with various cancer organizations to help get the word out.

  4. Prostate cancer is some scary shyt but it is the most curable of cancers. Black men are twice and likely to get it than other men. As a man if you live long enough, you will have prostate issues. I have a friend at age 53 who has stage 4 prostate cancer. At most he has a few months to live. This would have been completely preventable but, he had to “tough” it out. Initially the symptoms are mild. Waking up at night to unrinate, trouble urinating, etc. When my friends symptoms got painful it was really really bad. As a black man I have prostate exams since 40. Im 48 now. Lou caught it early and he should be fine. My prayers are with him. To all my sistahs on this board, if your man is over 40 make sure he gets checked. His life may depend on it. (ya’ll know we won’t do it on our own.)

  5. I wish Mr Gossett all the best and a speedy recovery. i was talking about him the other day. He is one of our great actorsbut, since he won the Oscar back in 83or 84 he has been practically invisible on the big screen and sometimes on the the small screen too. It seems he did not become the huge superstar after winning an Oscar that some actors enjoy. That to me is sad. He can certainly act circles around some of his white counterparts and the fesh batch of No Talents that are flooded the acting scene nowadays.

  6. I’m so glad that Mr. Gossett was able to catch the cancer in time. I agree with Kofi that black men need to get themselves checked on a regularly basis. I don’t like gyn anymore than any other woman but it has to be done. It makes no sense to ‘tough’ it out and die a painful death than endure several minutes of discomfort and live healthy. Please go and get checked.
