*Actor and activist Danny Glover is offering moral support to Cleveland-area workers at a plant for men’s suit company Hugo Boss, which is due to close next month with the loss of 375 jobs.
The film star was cheered on by workers at the Brooklyn, Ohio plant as he toured the operation on Tuesday.
Glover held a news conference and appealed to Germany’s Hugo Boss AG to reverse its shutdown decision. But, the company says it will close the plant as planned, reports the Associated Press. The company says the union representing workers rejected concessions at the plant, which it says isn’t globally competitive.
The actor led a boycott of Hugo Boss formal wear at the Academy Awards earlier this month.
