*To say multi-talented rap star Ludacris is busy this year would be an understatement.

His latest album, ‘Battle of the Sexes’ just hit No. 1 on the charts, he started a campaign for HIV awareness, and now he is putting forth energy toward the 2010 Census.

As part of the a $300 million U.S. government advertising campaign, Ludacris will be stressing the importance of the 2010 Census to so-called underrepresented groups that include African American males, single mothers, and lower class residents with criminal backgrounds.

“I look at our communities now and I see empty lots, closed clinics,
dilapidated schools and an overall breakdown of social services for the poor
and elderly,” the rapper said in a statement. “Today is a day for change. I plan to knock on doors in various neighborhoods around this country to try and dispel any myths about the Census. It’s important that we all stand up and be counted so we can help create potential financial opportunities for our dying communities.”

Yeah right. Can you imagine Luda knocking on the door of a crack house? Well, somebody’s gotta do it.

Anyway, we digress. The Atlanta rapper/actor will be visiting New York City on April 5, Washington, D.C. on April 4, and back to the ATL on April 9.
