“I was accused of unacceptable behavior towards a driver in New York,” said the supermodel, according to People.com. “I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past.”
Miodrag Mejdina had originally told police Campbell hit him from the backseat of the luxury SUV, then jumped out of the vehicle and ran off. He said he suffered bruising under his eye when his head was shoved into the steering wheel.
But Mejdina backpedaled yesterday. Speaking through his lawyer, he told the Associated Press Thursday that he “got angry and overreacted,” and that the incident was “blown out of proportion.” He declined to press charges and even apologized to Campbell.
“I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized,” Campbell stated. “I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on.”
