*The New York driver who accused Naomi Campbell of beating him from the back seat of a luxury SUV says he “got angry and overreacted” and regrets involving the police.

According to the Associated Press, Miodrag Mejdina (ME’-oh-drag mehj-DE’-nah) said through his lawyer Thursday that the incident was “blown out of proportion” and he wants to apologize to Campbell “for causing that to happen.”

Mejdina’s originally told police that Campbell struck him from behind Tuesday and his head slammed into the steering wheel, causing bruising under his eye.

Campbell said in a statement that she is pleased Mejdina has apologized and she wants to put the incident behind her.
