*Al Sharpton visited the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News to debate the racist actions of some Tea Party protesters with host Bill O’Reilly.
The men went back and forth at length about the spitting incident involving Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver. Looking at video of the incident, O’Reilly said to Sharpton: “Are you sure he spitted or it was just spittle? …There is a difference between intentional and non- intentional.”
“But there also is a difference between someone getting close enough that he would have intention to spit on a U.S. congressman. …I think that there is clearly a line of decency that we have to draw.”
Sharpton later said: “I think that if we were to sit here and say that in the Tea Party that there is not some leaves in that tea bag that are racist.”
O’REILLY: Well, then, you’ve got to prove, you’ve got to make that — you’ve got to prove it. You have got to prove it. SHARPTON: People standing outside of Congress using the n-word.
O’REILLY: How do you know they did that?
SHARPTON: I have seen the tape.
O’REILLY: There is no tape. There is no tape with the n-word on it. There’s no way. Let’s be clear. There is no tape.
