Will Smith may pull out of the next film in his “Men In Black” franchise to star in a new fantasy adventure for 20th Century Fox, reports Variety.

The box office star has been offered the lead in “The City that Sailed,” which follows a New York-based magician and his estranged daughter who lives in the UK. When the girl discovers a magic room, Manhattan separates and starts to drift across the Atlantic Ocean.

According to Variety, “Men In Black” director Barry Sonnenfeld has signed on for the third outing, but is still seeking a director for Andrew Niccol’s screenplay. Smith’s “I Am Legend” helmer Francis Lawrence has previously been linked to the film.

Smith starred as Agent Jay in the first two “Men In Black” outings, which grossed a combined $1 billion worldwide.
