*A Los Angeles judge has postponed today’s scheduled court hearing on whether Michael Jackson’s former doctor Conrad Murray should have his medical license suspended.
According to TMZ, Judge Michael Pastor disclosed information to Murray’s lawyers and Jackson family attorneys that has put the ruling on ice.
In the interest of full disclosure, Pastor told lawyers for both sides that he was appointed to the bench by Attorney General Jerry Brown back in 1983 when Brown was governor of California. Brown, as the state’s current Attorney General, is seeking to restrict Murray’s license to practice medicine in California while he faces a charge of involuntary manslaughter over Michael Jackson’s death.
The judge also revealed that he wrote a letter of recommendation for David Walgren, who is prosecuting the case. Walgren is seeking to become a judge.
After his disclosures, Pastor said that he believed the issues would not affect his judgment. Both parties are expected to resume court on June 14.
