*Graffiti has turned up on one of the buildings at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Atlanta.
Maintenance workers spent Wednesday cleaning blue and white paint off the side of Freedom Hall, according to the Associated Press. King Center spokesman Steve Klein said no one noticed the markings until the center received media calls about it.
Klein said it’s the first time he can remember someone defacing the center, which is next door to historic Ebenezer Baptist Church where the slain civil rights leader preached.
The center was opened by King’s widow, Coretta Scott King, after his assassination in 1968.
