*Caster Semenya, the 19-year-old South African track star at the center of a gender dispute, made a rare public appearance Wednesday to launch the Caster Semenya Sports Academy in Pretoria.
The athlete was sporting a green and yellow training top and striped hat during her appearance at the venue alongside her coach Michael Seme, according to the Associated Press.
Media manager Mthokozisi Xulu said Semenya will be president of the academy.
Semenya has not run since winning the women’s 800-meter title at the world championships in August. The IAAF, track’s governing body, is expected to release her gender test results in June, and Semenya says she will return to competition on June 24 at a meet in Zaragoza, Spain.
