*Afeni Shakur Davis, mother of late rap legend, Tupac Shakur was arrested on drug possession charges in North Carolina on April according to ABC News.
The report goes on to say, Davis was caught with marijuana and maintaining a vehicle and dwelling for controlled substances, as well as possession of a controlled substance.
She was later released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to reappear in court for sentencing May 10 at North Carolina’s Robeson County District Court.
Interestingly Davis is known for her political activism and civil rights forums, as she was a part of the Black Panther movement of the 70s.
She founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, which helps bring children arts programs.
The Amaru Entertainment Company, another venture of Davis, is currently caught up in the middle of a legal battle with Morgan Creek Productions to gain full rights to the Tupac biopic.
