USA Today/Gallup Poll: Obama Doesn’t Deserve Re-election

*Americans anxious about unemployment and the economy increasingly blame President Obama for hard times, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, amid signs of turbulence in November’s midterm elections.

Last week’s jubilant signing of the health care overhaul, Obama’s signature domestic initiative, seems to have given the president little boost. Instead, his standing on four personal qualities has sagged, and 50% of those surveyed say he doesn’t deserve re-election.

“People are still hurting; a lot of people are still struggling, and I think a lot of what we’re seeing in the polls reflects people’s views on the economy,” says Rep. Chris Van Hollen, head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

“At the same time, things have been improving. Clearly the economy is growing again,” Van Hollen said. “I believe that if we begin to see positive job growth, people’s confidence will return and that will change the dynamic.”

The headline is mistated. It should read “America DOES NOT Deserve a President of President Obama’s caliber”. Hey, we all knew that anyone stepping into the mess, thievery and disrespect for the constitution the previous bandits left behind, would have an uphill battle.
At times I wish the President would tell all the naysayers where they can kiss it.
So, heaven forbid if we get another 8 years under rethuglican leadership, we deserve everything we get, should that happen.
Rethugs and tea partiers conveniently forget the destruction that the bush/cheney crime family did to this country, to our constitution.
I am beginning to wonder if the populous in this country is that ignorant. Polls like this confirm my worst fears.

Amen…Amen…and Amen again Bart!! I am so sick of the bulls..t!! And exactly who did the survey for this damn Poll? They didn’t ask me…and since he’s not able to say it…please allow me to say it for him…On behalf of MY President…to the Rethuglicans, Tavis Smiley and the rest of the “naysayers”…KISS HIS BIRACIAL ASS IN MACY’S WINDOW…AND WE’LL GIVE YOU 30 MINUTES TO DRAW A CROWD!!

First, nobody asked me or anyone I know, because the results would have been different. They must center these polls in the deep South or something. Second, it took 6 years for Conservatives to put us into this hole, so why would people think we could get out of it in 1-2 years? They keep saying President Obama is no savior, but then they expect him to act like one.

They never ask us plus was this an online poll? If it was, most of those polls are wrong. They had McCain beating Pres Obama in a landslide!

  3. These numbers are really meaningless unless you are willing to break them down. For example, “Twenty-six percent say he deserves ‘a great deal’ of the blame for the nation’s economic problems.”But who are these 26 percent? More likely Republicans, probably all tea party members.

And the 50% who say he doesn’t deserve re-election. Well, I would like to hear what they say the next time, when they are first told that, “the U.S. economy gained more jobs in March than any other month in the last three years, according to a government report released Friday.”

For starters I am one of the few people on Earth who thinks that nobody “DESERVES” anything. You earn things in life. Give President Obama a chance. The man has only been in office for a year. He’s just getting warmed up. For finishers, he’s slowly digging the nation out of the hole that Bush left the nation in. With that said. Obama will EARN a re-election.

  5. In all my years, while living in major cities all over this country, not once has my household been called upon to respond to one of these polls. Further, upon questioning my friends and acquaintances, none of them have ever been polled, either. Methinks certain “pollsters” are pulling these figures out of their proverbial asses! I suppose some of these “polls” are conducted in the so-called “heartland,” a word which should make every person of color in this country shiver with disgust and fear!
