*The possibility of O.J. Simpson eventually being freed from prison on robbery charges moved a step closer to reality last week.
The Nevada Supreme requested oral arguments in the conviction appeals of Simpson and co-defendant C.J. Stewart. The granting or oral arguments was good news for Simpson because the Nevada court seldom allows oral arguments.
Thus, legal experts immediately began speculating the Court saw some merit in Simpson’s request that his conviction be overturned on grounds that the jury selection process was tainted in part because prosecutors excluded the only two African Americans in the jury pool.
Simpson is currently serving a 9 to 33 sentence for allegedly robbing two sports memorabilia dealers of property which he claimed belonged to him. Oral arguments have been set for June 11th. (source: Taylor Media Services – www.BlackNewsJournal.net )
