*When it was time to choose a fashion designer to outfit the European leg of her “The Element of Freedom” tour, Alicia Keys turned to none other than Giorgio Armani, a fashionisto she has known personally since early in her career.

“He started sending me clothes and then we began working more closely for big events,” she tells WENN. “The first major dress we designed together was for the Grammys in 2006. [See above photo.] It was a fully beaded black Privee dress that weighed about a ton, but once it was on, it felt just gorgeous.”

Keys, who also wore Armani for her 2008 “As I Am” tour, will hit the stage in four outfits from the Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani labels. They include an embroidered, crocodile-print military leather jacket worn with leggings, a silk one-shoulder top and Swarovski crystal-studded leather boots. Keys can also trade her shapewear tank in for a dark gray one-shoulder silk chiffon gown accented with Swarovski crystals and sequins; a second silk, embroidered one-shoulder top worn with leggings and crystal-kissed boots; and a ruffled black viscose lame mini dress accessorized with Swarovski crystal gloves.

“When Giorgio fits me, he comes in like a magician and twirls around me three or four times, checking which bits need pulling in and what should be taken out,” says Keys. “He’s totally, completely involved, and he’s very gentle – I think he just loves women. I keep all the dresses that he makes for me. Many define special moments in my life and career, and I figure, eventually, I will work out what I want to do with them all.”
