*The Tribeca Film Festival co-founded by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal kicked off on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 with the world premiere of Shrek Forever After, the exciting fourth film in Dream Works Animation’s “Shrek” series.
The enthralling new movie is the first “Shrek” released in 3-D and stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas who all attended the star-studded VIP screening at the Ziegfeld Theatre followed by a plush post premiere party at MOMA.
Shrek Forever After follows the film festival’s tradition of opening with a splashy Hollywood production. A big green ogre taking over The Big Apple is as big as it gets – and in 3-D no less!
“We have always sought to open our Festival with films that are captivating and strike an emotional chord with movie-goers. ‘Shrek Forever After’ combines the very best in storytelling and artistry while showcasing the wonders of innovative 3-D filmmaking,” said festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal.
“It is one of the most anticipated new movies of 2010 and we are so pleased that DreamWorks Animation is bringing the final chapter of “Shrek” to the Tribeca Film Festival for its world premiere,” Rosenthal concluded. (Photos by Kyle J. Cassett)
