*The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation has announced its 40th Annual Legislative Conference is set for Washington, D.C. from September 15-to-18.
The gathering at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center has become the premier predominantly African American political gathering in the nation with thousands of elected officials, community organizers, business leaders and ordinary citizens expected to attend.
As a result of its popularity, the legislative weekend has in recent years taken on a highly social character with parties, fashion shows and networking.
However, the event is actually designed to highlight the mission and accomplishments of the Congressional Black Caucus and its 42 members.
This year’s theme, for example is “Celebrating the Vision, Continuing the Journey, Advancing the Mission.” Early registration is open and attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the early discounts available online through July 23 at www.alc10.org.
Attendee registration closes September 3. Media registration will open May 31 at www.alc10.org/media. (source: Taylor Media Services)
