*Robin Givens is denying reports that she has made editorial demands surrounding today’s (05-07-10) appearance of her ex-husband Mike Tyson on “The View.”
The New York Daily News quoted an unnamed source close to Givens who claimed the actress called up producers demanding that he refrain from mentioning her name during the interview.
“When Robin got word that Mike would be on the show, she reacted immediately,” the source said. “She’d rather not have Mike rehash their rather tumultuous relationship. That was a bad time for her, and she’s moved on.”
But a rep for the actress says the report is not true, Givens did not contact the network and has no problem with Tyson appearing on the show, according to WENN.
“Robin wishes Mike only the best,” the spokesperson said.
On Friday’s broadcast of “The View,” Tyson will come into contact with co-host Barbara Walters for the first time since his infamous joint interview with Givens in 1998. In the special, Givens went into great detail about some of the fights she and Tyson had, while her then-husband sat silently beside her.
Givens complained to Oprah Winfrey last year over the way she handled comments Tyson made about wanting to “sock” his ex-wife following the 1998 Walters chat.
Since Mike Tyson has been struggling with bankruptcy and recently lost a very young child, I DOUBT the focus of his appearance on the view would be Robin Givens!!!! Sheeeeeesh!!!

I agree with the above posts. I beleive she did phone up Barb or someone from the View, just like she appeared on Oprah’s show shortly after Mike’s interview. Robin you should be mature enough to not get so upset every time your name is mentioned in the same breath as Mike’s. Let it go!

I often wonder why celebrities go through the trouble of denying ISHT. Most of the time, folks’ opinions aren’t going to change just because a celebrity denies an accusation. Robin would have been better off NOT saying anything.
