Oops. CNN Kyra Phillips apologizes for Coolio song with N-word

*CNN anchor Kyra Phillips apologized to viewers Wednesday for playing the unedited version of a Coolio song in which he says the N-word.

For a clip on a 103-year-old Pennsylvania woman who still drives, the cable channel played Coolio’s “Fantastic Voyage” while going to the break.

The portion of the song they used contained the lyrics: “Ain’t no bloodin’, Ain’t no crippin’ / Ain’t no punk-a** n***as set trippin’ / everybody’s got a stack and it ain’t no crack / and it really don’t matter…”

Phillips came back from the break and immediately apologized.

“We aired some music just a few minutes ago, and, obviously for those of you that heard it, it was the wrong music that aired,” she said. “We apologize for that. It was a terrible mistake. And we’re working very hard to make up for it.”
