*Okay, we think someone put him up to it, but Eminem is now saying he supports gay marriage. Unbelievable right? Definitely, after some of his homophobic statements and lyrics in the past.
In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, the rapper was asked if he would support a gay marriage bill if it were presented in Michigan.
This was his response:
“I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want.”
Ah yes, a very Em response. His newfound tolerance he gives credit to maturity and a split personality – Slim Shady.
“Shady still exists. But I don’t think the subjects on this record call for you know, bringing the chainsaws and axes out and murder[ing] everyone,” he explained. “There was so much stuff like that off the last record that I felt like I was starting to run it into the ground. I think consciously I went in a different direction with this record.”
BTW, his latest project, “Recovery,” will be out June 21.
Speaking of Em, he has been added to the line up of performers for the BET awards on the 27th, along with Usher, Alicia Keys, and T-Pain. Others expected to be on stage include Diddy, Dirty Money, Trey Songz, T.I., and Kanye West.
Prince will be present to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and John Legend will receive the Humanitarian Award. The full list of award nominees and performers is available at BET.com. This year the ceremony will be hosted by Queen Latifah.
