*There is so much anticipation surrounding Dre’s new album, “Detox,” but it seems like he’s still tweeking it … so will we ever see it?
In an interview with The Boom Box.com at the recent ASCAP Awards, Dre attempted to settle any uncertainty:
“I’m leaving this event [and] going right to the studio,” he said on the red carpet at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards. “I’m trying to put it out by the end of the fall. I’m trying to give everybody what they’re waiting for and make sure they’re not disappointed.”
Despite the love and maybe hope from fans the rapper/producer received for the leaked “Under Pressure” featuring Jay-Z, Dre was not too happy about the early release.
“I didn’t get to finish the record. The vocals are real rough … that’s not even the hook. It’s not done,” he explained. “It’s one of the things we have to deal with today in the business because of the technology and Internet and all that. It’s real easy for somebody to steal your s—.”
Maybe we will see the album by the end of this year.
