Just like the headline says, this page/board is where you can discuss the stuff that we didn’t cover in today’s issue. (It’s sort of like feedback with a twist) Remember, NO name calling, racial taunting, graphic sex talk and vulgarity in general, PLEASE.

Today’s CHOCOLATE JAM is “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” by Michael Jackson featuring Siedah Garrett
Good Morning. This is one of my favorite MJ songs:
I’m Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It’s Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right . . .
As I, Turn Up The Collar On My
Favourite Winter Coat
This Wind Is Blowin’ My Mind
I See The Kids In The Street,
With Not Enough To Eat
Who Am I, To Be Blind?
Pretending Not To See
Their Needs
A Summer’s Disregard,
A Broken Bottle Top
And A One Man’s Soul
They Follow Each Other On
The Wind Ya’ Know
‘Cause They Got Nowhere
To Go
That’s Why I Want You To
Know
I’m Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change)
(Na Na Na, Na Na Na, Na Na,
Na Nah)
I’ve Been A Victim Of A Selfish
Kind Of Love
It’s Time That I Realize
That There Are Some With No
Home, Not A Nickel To Loan
Could It Be Really Me,
Pretending That They’re Not
Alone?
A Willow Deeply Scarred,
Somebody’s Broken Heart
And A Washed-Out Dream
(Washed-Out Dream)
They Follow The Pattern Of
The Wind, Ya’ See
Cause They Got No Place
To Be
That’s Why I’m Starting With
Me
(Starting With Me!)
I’m Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
(Ooh!)
I’m Asking Him To Change
His Ways
(Ooh!)
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself And
Then Make A Change

Then Make A Change)

Kesha Rogers: Black Democrat Wants to Impeach Obama

When I first heard about Kesha Rogers, the Democratic Nominee for Congress out of the 22nd District of Texas, I could hardly believe my ears and eyes. Rogers, a black woman, wants to impeach the first black president of the United States. I took a visit to Rogers’ website, seeking to determine the precise nature of her platforms and to determine if she was another Alvin Greene, an apparent “negro for hire,” whom I believe was used to undermine African American causes, and to my surprise, she actually makes a little bit of sense.
Without agreeing or disagreeing with Rogers’ opinions, I thought I would share some of the words on her website that pertain to her opinions of President Obama:
· He has continued to support the Bush-Cheney wars, which he said he would end, and their so-called Patriot Act, which threatens our freedoms;
· He has continued the Bush-Cheney bailouts of Wall Street swindlers and thieves, and is making it worse, by rejecting true regulatory reform, through his die-hard opposition to restoring the Glass-Steagall regulations of Franklin Roosevelt, and his efforts to kill Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s amendment to restrict derivative trading;
· He continues the Bush-Cheney embrace of financial and business cartels, as in his so-called health care legislation, which the insurance companies, HMOs and Big Pharma love, but which defines the sick, the poor, and the elderly as ‘useless eaters’; or his refusal to shut down BP (BRITISH Petroleum), and apply immediate, necessary emergency measures in the Gulf;
· And, of course, his repudiation of our manned space mission, including the colonization of Mars, which was ardently supported by past Democratic Party presidents, including John F. Kennedy and Texas’s own Lyndon Johnson.
Here is my take on Kesha Rogers: Rogers is the kind of dangerous Democratic candidate who pushes so far to the left that she ends up helping the right. By demanding what some believe to be the impossible of President Obama, she is gaining favor in a conservative state from those who hate President Obama for very different reasons. While Rogers’ strategy may be successful, there’s nothing unique about it and it’s ultimately a matter of her undermining Obama and her fellow Democrats to pursue her own selfish agenda. Other Democrats have concerns about Obama, but they have not been nearly as vocal, demanding or dramatic.
Secondly, Rogers is certainly able to play on a rising sentiment among black Democrats that Obama represents more of the same in politics, and doesn’t bring along any of the “hope and change” he claimed to pursue during his historic campaign. The problem, however, is that while there are many who are quick to criticize the job Obama is doing, they are not quick to propose pragmatic alternatives. Kesha Rogers is running the best campaign she can and her strategy is getting her on the political map, so perhaps she deserves some credit for that. Also, while we might criticize her for throwing Obama under the bus in order to pursue her own agenda, the truth is that Obama would have done the same thing to her (in fact he has done that to other politicians on his own rise to the top). All’s fair in love, war and politics.
Personally, I don’t like Kesha Rogers very much and see her as a political gimmick, but I have to give credit where it’s due.

Morning fam. “Man in the Mirror” and “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” are two of my fav. MJ songs. There are so many it’s hard to pick favorities, but “Human Nature” is up there right along with “I’ll be There,” “Billie Jean,” “Gone Too Soon,” “Black or White,” “Remember the Time,” “Butterfly” …. Truly the sound tracks of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. RIP Mike.
Lifting up Pene, knowing that you’ll do your thing out in the desert. Your FB pic from out your window is breathtaking.

Morning fam! RIP MJ!!!!
Well today’s the day. I go pay my son’s enrollment fee and 1st month’s tuition for his new school. No turning back. I’ve talked to him all week about expecting and embracing the change. He’s already doing school work for them. They were given two reading assignments with questions that has to be answered and turned in on the first day. NO EXCEPTIONS. He’s already finished his first book, Lord of the Flies, a WEEK earlier than the deadline. I’m impressed!
Boy I hated Lord of the Flies….such a waste of my time…kudos to your son…i know he’s going to handle that lil business…..
SoBro,
You’re right. I forgot to put “Rock With You” in the mix. It is one of my favs too. See that’s the thing about MJ songs, there are so many good songs that putting together a list of favs is always a disappointment, because you always forgot three or four that should be on the list.
Good Morning Eveyone! Long time no post — Thank God It’s Friday. RIP MJ, I miss you!
I’ve gotta cheer up… I refuse to sit here and cry all day.

Police: Calif couple tried to sell baby at Walmart (AP) – 15 hours ago
SALINAS, Calif. — A California couple faces child endangerment charges after police say they tried to sell their 6-month-old baby for $25 outside a Wal-Mart store.
Salinas police spokesman, Officer Lalo Villegas, said Thursday that 38-year-old Patrick Fousek and 20-year-old Samantha Tomasini were arrested early Wednesday, hours after Fousek approached two women outside Wal-Mart and asked if they’d like to purchase his child.
Villegas says the women thought Fousek was joking, but when he became persistent, they became suspicious. The women reported it to police.
The couple also face a charge of being under the influence. Fousek also was on probation.
Villegas says he believes the couple do not have attorneys yet, but will likely get assigned ones at an expected arraignment Friday.
Jacque, that story about the baby is a doggone shame!! $25??????????
I’d rather just GIVE them $25 and tell them to go buy their meth… I can’t stand people sometimes.
With these druggie nutjobs for parents, the baby is better off without them as parents.
Ex – true. true.
Good morning e’erbody! Can’t believe I was actually able to log on! Who was that that wanted to “quit earth” not to long ago? Stories like that one make me wanna holla..throw up both my hands! I’m wearing black today in honor of my first husband. I done cot chocked up a couple times today! RIP MJ!
