*If you, like a lot of people, are wondering just who this Alvin Green person is, you might want to take a look at the interview he did with Keith Olbermann last night.
Only thing is you won’t get very much except the impression that Mr. Green seems to be hiding something or he’s really confused. One even gets the impression that he’s “not all there.”
How the hell did he win and who is this guy? That’s what a lot of people are saying in the wake of his of primary victory in South Carolina for a Senate seat. No doubt about it, he’s a head scratcher.
The bottom line is that we learned pretty much nothing. Green insisted he’s not a plant and he’s not stepping down (“no, sir”), and he wouldn’t talk about his felony charge. He also seemed to have an attorney just off camera feeding him answers, as Olbermann pointed out afterward.
In spite of that, Olbermann’s was the most successful interview so far because “he treated Greene like one would interview a child that won a contest to be on the TV, and now got to explain his science project,” writes Frances Martel at Mediaite. “Except Greene’s science project is his campaign, and he’s too shy or uninformed or just plain confused to really explain what his campaign even is.”
