*South Beach is nice, but apparently Derek Fisher prefers Southern Cali.
Two days after getting a major sales pitch from Miami Heat president Pat Riley, team owner Micky Arison and even LeBron James, Fisher decided to stay put and agree to a new three-year contract with the Lakers, reports the LA Daily News.
Financial terms were not immediately available, but it’s being reported that he’ll get $10 million over a 3 year period.
Fisher said his long-term friendship with teammate Kobe Bryant convinced him to re-sign and chase a sixth NBA championship together.
Fisher and Bryant won their fifth title in seven trips to the Finals with a gritty victory last month over Boston.
