*He may be in prison, but Lil Wayne’s career continues roll freely with the scheduled release of a new EP in the fall.
His co-manager and Young Money CEO Cortez Bryant told Vibe.com the digital release, titled “I’m Not A Human Being,” will feature new material and preview “The Carter IV,” his full-length follow-up to the February release “Rebirth.”
“I’ll probably drop it on his birthday, September 27,” Bryant said, adding that it won’t be the usual release accompanied by long promotional and marketing lead-ups.
“We not about to roll out no three month set up,” he said. “I’m not even putting it out in stores. We just gonna put it out virally and maybe package it up for Christmas. Give ’em a hard copy later for fan appreciation.”
Lil Wayne has been serving out his one-year prison sentence at New York City’s Rikers Island since March, after pleading guilty to attempted possession of a weapon in connection with a gun found on his tour bus after a 2007 New York concert.
