*It seems as if it ain’t one thing, it’s another for Missy. After being abruptly pushed off stage at Britain’s Wireless Music Festival earlier this month, the lady rapper/producer has run into a dilemma for her next international tour.
She is set to perform on July 15 in Tel Aviv, Israel for the first time in her career, but a Canadian group is boycotting her show!
Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East are fighting to stop the show out of respect to the territorial dispute between Palestine and Israel.
“As a member of a visible minority, and someone who has long contributed to various social causes, Ms. Elliott may have sensitivity to the plight of the oppressed,” an online petition states. “Santana, Elvis Costello, the Pixes, and other prominent performers have recently canceled concerts in Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian call for boycott, divestment, and sanctions against Israel in 2005.”
Well, what’s a money making rap star to do when the tickets for the concert have already sold out! Snoop Dogg faced a similar crisis back in 2008 when a Palestinian group told him to stay back from Israel.
No word on what Elliott will do, however, it may be safe to assume she will resume the concert.
