*Soul legend and pioneer, Aretha Franklin is teaming up with educational network PBS to share some recovered soul music found in vaults across the world.
Producer TJ Lubinsky’s latest installment of PBS’ popular “My Music” series represents the culmination of many years of research and planning that has led to the assemblage of the most comprehensive collection of rare performances by legendary R&B artists from the classic 1960s-1970s soul era culled from non-American TV sources in Germany, Japan and the UK.
This collection of archived performances, live shows, and internationally recorded music is sure to take music lovers on a flash back journey in time to that favorite moment in the past.
Some of the featured selections include “Respect” by none other than the Queen of Soul herself, “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, and lest not forget “Knock on Wood” by Eddie Floyd.
The show is called “Soul Rewind” and premieres July 31 on PBS and will air throughout August and September.
