Lovely…it was funny. I found on FB that the man died. I figured hubby didn’t know since he hadn’t called me. So I call him at work at he has the music blasting. We pass a few words and I gingerly say ‘did your dad pass?’ He said ‘their dad passed I don’t know if mine is dead or alive’
. I knew to leave it alone but the rest of the day people were calling him offering condolences but he was still on the same convo….not my dad. So, when we got the call about the family meeting I told him that I understood his position and I knew why he felt the way he did but that if he was going to go with that attitude, DON’T GO. I told him that was his siblings father and to have enough respect as they go through their mourning period. So he says he’ll go but not offer any suggestions, just basically go and be quiet. When he came home and told me that they wanted $500 from each child I said ‘hell, that’s when you were suppose to stand up and yell NOT MY DADDY’ LOL! There is so much to this that it’s crazy. I will say this…..parents, things you do now will most definitely affect your children when they’re older. My hubby is having a hard time but from the outside looking in, it looks like he has it all together. So not the case. I wanna kick his momma in the esophagus!

A Brazilian model living in Houston, Texas, who reportedly has the largest breasts in the world, is in the fight for her life, according to a Texas report.
Sheyla Hershey, who has had more than 30 plastic surgeries, suffered a severe staph infection following her most recent breast augmentation procedure in June.
MyFoxHouston.com reported that doctors on Tuesday performed surgery to remove her implants, and possibly her own breasts. Hershey told the Houston station that doctors are concerned that the infection could leak into her bloodstream, which could threaten her life. In 2009, Hershey was reported to be a size 38KKK.
“I had large fever and painful. I just couldn’t breathe properly; it was terrible! I was in bed all day, couldn’t get up,” Hershey said, according to Fox.
ABC News reported she was forced to go to Brazil for recent surgeries because Texas law prevents inserting more than a gallon of silicon into the human body for fear of toxicity.
In an interview last year, Hershey said, “I want to look better each day, every day. Everybody’s got a dream inside, you know? And it’s good when you can make your dream come true.”

A secretary for the Village of Chicago Ridge is accused of molesting four of her daughter’s 14- and 15-year-old male friends and giving them alcohol and marijuana.
Cathleen M. Miller, 40, of the 5800 block of West 109th Street, is charged with three counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of criminal sexual abuse.
Miller, the mother of three daughters, the oldest of whom is 14, is accused of having sexual intercourse with two of the boys.
She allegedly molested the boys in her home between February and June, said Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.
She remained jailed Wednesday night. Bond was set at $900,000 Tuesday.
Miller is not allowed to have contact with her teen daughter because the teen allegedly witnessed some of the sex acts.
Miller’s lawyer, Robert Olson, said the woman denies any wrongdoing and said her daughter’s friends brought their own alcohol and drugs to her home.
The alleged sexual abuse came to light several weeks ago after one of the boys wrote an apology to Miller’s teen daughter on Facebook, Olson said. The girl had allegedly walked in on them. His parents saw the message and went to police, Olson said.
As police started asking questions, Miller checked herself into a hospital. She was considering suicide, Olson said. A relative of Miller has custody of the teen girl and her 3- and 10-year-old siblings.
Miller recently separated from her husband and got an order of protection against him for herself and their daughters after an alleged encounter June 6 in their home. She claimed a long history of physical and emotional abuse and had consulted Olson about filing for divorce, he said.
Miller said her husband in June had “spit in her face, poured water on her and pushed her to the ground,” scraping her left knee, according to court documents.
Miller has worked for the village for at least 20 years, officials said. A spokesman for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services said his office was investigating the family.

Good word, but that’s not it…its a multi-syllable word…I came across it reading the EEOC digest and normally make notes of the words the AJs use. In this case I did not, but now as I write this briefing, I realize how perfect that word is. I can’t find it in the digest, because I read so many the other night that it would take too much time to reviw those editions for the sake of finding that word. The word was used in a Decision concerning a complainant who had abused the process merely for the sake of interfering with the process. Oh well…if I find it I’ll let you know…thanx though.

Actually…i googled it…and it sounds close…
I ran a thesaurus search on circumvent and came up with many words, including thwart. I like the word, but it does not strike at the heart of what the individual whom I am writing about did. Normally I would def use ‘thwart’, but what this individual did was so egregious to the process that a word someone should have to look up to understand would be most appropriate.
This individual sought to interfere with the process by overburdening the administrators with so many issues that
others who wanted to take advantage of the process were delayed or otherwise denied. Sort of like two bon fires, except one of the firestarters keeps adding incendiaries to theirs so that it is so distracting that everyone forgets that there is another fire (or in this case multiple ones) burning away.

Before I depart for the day, a question for the ladies online here. My daughter is second year college, one of the scholarships she was able to get was from the Delta’s. A four year one that pays for her books. Now she is considering pledging, my advice was since the Delta’s gave her the scholarship she should look at them. She told me she is thinking of the AKA’s, so fundamentally what is the difference? I went to college but left all that alone and did not pay too much attention to frats. My brother however is a Sigma and I have cousins who are Que’s.

I too stayed away from that part of college. My advice is to let her handle it. She’ll choose the one that’s right for her.
Leonard let her pledge what she wants. It is easier to get into AKA. Lower gpa required and unsure if they are a stickler about community service like my sorority. Of course I think my organization is great but it is different per chapter. Let her research it on her own.
That would be kinda crunchy though with her taking Delta money for books and being an AKA.

Congrats on the new gig. We have several Delta’s on the board … HK, Juice, D12, and a few others (I think Tallchix). Not sure about AKA’s.
They all claim to attract and develop women who are leaders on campus and who will be leaders in business and in the community. Once people are out of college the differences are not differences at all. Black frats and sororities have a long history of continuing the work of building community and leading long after our school days are done.
There are a lot of great Deltas and I know an equal amount of great AKAs. My Ex is a Zeta and she’s fab. Don’t know too many Sigma Gamma Rho’s though.
Seriously, she will be in good company either way she chooses. Just help her avoid some of the college BS when it comes to pledging.

Funny Juice. I’on know about Vanderbilt, but on UF’s campus the Zetas RAN IT much of the time I was there. DST at UF was off the yard most of the time I was there due to hazing violations. AKAs were present and up there. But I’m telling you ZPhiB ran the female yard.
