*NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” next week will add a never-before-seen TV performance by Ice Cube to one of its summer reruns.
According to the New York Daily News, producers of the show are adding the appearance to a “Late Night” rebroadcast airing Wednesday at 12:35 a.m. [Scroll down to watch video.]
“This is the perfect example of how much fun our show is, even when the cameras aren’t rolling,” Fallon said in a statement.
Ice Cube was the lead guest when the show was originally taped. And each night before the show starts, the house band, the Roots, plays to warm up the crowd. On this particular night, Cube was sitting in with the band and performed the N.W.A. classic “Straight Outta Compton.” The performance was captured by a “Late Night” staffer with a digital camera.
The footage was then matched up to the audio recorded in the studio, creating a new performance piece being added to the rerun next week.
“Ice Cube and the Roots put on an
