Dog Eats Man’s … Big Toe (And Saves His Life)

   

*This is bizarre, a dog eats his owner’s big toe and saves his life! According to mlive.com, Jerry Douthett came home and passed out drunk. His dog, a terrier chewed most of his big toe.

“He saved my life,” Jerry said. “I would have never gone to the doctor unless this would have happened.” Because he sought medical attention for the wound, doctors learned his blood sugar was high and diagnosed him with diabetes. Wow! (more…)

    It’s been repeatedly reported over the years that dogs sense of smell is way more advanced than that of a human. National Geographic is reporting that they use 40 times more brainpower to smell than do humans.

    Dogs can smell the changes in our body chemistry and can tell when we are sick and where in the body that sickness is emanating from or where it is most concentrated.

    The dog knew what it was doing. The toe was probably dead and on it’s way to becoming gangrenous. We’ve breed dogs such that most will do whatever is necessary to save a human life.
