*The unidentified person in a 911 call seeking help for Fantasia Barrino said she had just taken “a bottle of aspirin” and was becoming unresponsive.
In audio of the Monday night call, obtained by TMZ.com, the caller said Barrino was slowly losing consciousness and had been moved into the shower.
The emergency operator instructed the caller to move Fantasia out of the shower. Police arrived a short time later and the singer was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.
Fantasia’s rep announced yesterday that the singer was in stable condition and would be released from the hospital “soon.”
According to the police report cited by TMZ, Fantasia ingested the medication after feeling “overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention” surrounding her relationship with married boyfriend Antwaun Cook.
His wife, Paula Cook, filed a lawsuit accusing Fantasia of breaking up her marriage in part by making a number of sex tapes with Antwaun during an alleged affair that began last August.
Wow! A whole bottle of aspirin?!
So she did pull the trigger. This was not a stunt.
Now why the fuk would you put someone in such a delicate state in the shower?

How about trying to keep the person as stable as possible until help arrives?
They probably didn’t know WHAT to do and were afraid she was going to die. I took a handful of asprin when I was a teenager, and it was awful, although I wasn’t unconscious. It affected me to the point that I refuse to swallow pills of any kind to this day, unless it is absolutely necessary.
The lowlife hubby had his fun with her and then turned around and made up with wifey. In the end, he will get what is coming to him.
why are you all talking so bad about the man? it took the two of them to mess around and as much as I love Fnatasia she knew what she was getting into and for her to hav econtact with the wife and exchange words was just pitiful. she is going to pay dearly for some fun in the sheets. I hope it was worth it to her
@sultry so should people just act like the husband played no part in this and just blame fantasia? he was the one that was married so truth be told he is more responsible because he broke the wedding vows not fantasia. of course fantasia is wrong if she did contact the wife or if she knew he was married and kept messing with him.
Interesting how this recording has been “given” to the media. I don’t watch TMZ and it wasn’t on the legitimate news broadcast that I watch every night.
I agree with whoever said yesterday that her management was making the call while she was taking the pills. The whole thing with her management making an announcement when no one knew anything and now how TMZ pops up with the recording just when folks like me are voicing their suspicions is unbelievable.
Her people put her in the shower to try to cool her hot ass off (pun intended).
She and her handlers all need to sit down somewhere and be quiet. No more comments about the affair or the so-called overdose. Just lay low. If this album is any good, it’ll sell itself. Other than that, Fantasia needs to sit her ass down somewhere and reflect on the error of her ways for the remainder of 2010.
No family drama, no VH1 show, no affairs with married men, nothing. Take a vow of celebacy and silence. When 2011 rolls around, you can come back and express your sorrow over your weakness and how you’re now stronger and ready to move onward and upward and then do just that. But, for now, you need to pull back and sit down somewhere!
@brooklynbabe i don’t believe this suicide mess one bit. fantasia knows that album is coming out this month and she figured the wife’s lawsuit would interfere with record sales so she pulled this mess for sympathy record sales. i like fantasia and was gonna get her cd so this little stunt actually makes me not wanna buy it now. i hate publicity stunts to sell records no matter how much i’m a fan.
Agree Brooklynbabe, the underlying story here is how poor Fanstasia’s pr team is (if she has one.) As has been stated before, she is not the first celeb to have an adulterous affair, yet it seems she has taken much more heat in comparison to others. Others had a pr team in place to blunt the coverage; Fantasia does not seem to have that in place. I think it’s not having the affair that made her “sick”–after all she allegedly told the wife on the phone to ‘get over it, he’s mine, you need to learn how to keep your man,’ a boldness that is not uncommon for homewrecking skanks–I think it was more the harshness of the criticism from the media that made her “sick.”
Here are the lessons to be learned from all of this:
1) Don’t have “married boyfriends” in states in which the wife can sue your triflin azz.
2) You must fit the mainstream definition of “beauty” in order to get a pass from the media.
3) If you fail the above two criteria, you MUST, absolutely MUST, have a solid pr team in place, that will downplay your affair and will advise you to stay quiet–don’t LIE, like Fantasia did, a while back when asked about the Cook guy, she said “I’ve never met him, I only deal with people in my tax bracket.” Lying heffa! lol–don’t broadcast your illicit behavior. This includes NOT TAKING INCRIMINATING PICTURES.
