*Fantasia Barrino’s manager released a statement saying the singer’s overdose Monday night was caused by a combination of aspirin and a sleep aid.
According to the statement reported by TMZ, Fantasia ingested the medication after feeling “overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention” surrounding her relationship with married boyfriend Antwaun Cook.
“Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid. Her injuries are not life threatening,” the statement read. “She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon.”
Addressing the sex scandal, the rep also explains that Fantasia “believed him when he told her he and Mrs. Cook separated in the late summer of 2009. She believed Mr. Cook when he told her he lived elsewhere.”
Fantasia’s manager also stated: “Fantasia has always been an open book. Honesty, self-respect, and personal responsibility are values she wears proudly.”

That’s what I’m saying. All she had to do was get a good lawyer to argue that she didn’t know they were still together, and she wouldn’t come out looking any worse than Alicia. Apparently Mashonda thought they were still together, so if that state allowed it, Alicia could have been sued also. Now this suicide thing is a whole ‘nother matter. Just one more thing for them to say about her in addition to saying she’s not literate. Now she also crazy.

All of this drama for what? nothing! I feel for Fanny and I do hope she gets better and get herself together. I know it is easy to fall for someone and believe what they tell you but, you have to think for yourself and when Antwaun said he was living in separate homes but were not divorced yet well that should of been a red flag! to Fanny don’t get too deeply involved until the divorce is final. The alleged sex tape was just plain stupidity.
I do not believe this crap one bit. Why?! Her manager released a statement. Why release a statement?! There was no reason for her manager to report anything. No one knew anything. Any manager worth a damn knows that that is the type of crap you go to great lengths to cover up at all costs. You deny unless caught redhanded. Get the hell outta here with this crap!
This was a story concocted by her camp to try to make her look sympathetic and to do damage control in the wake of the adultery scandal. No one from the hospital blew her up. If she even went to the hospital. There was no patient or visitor at the hospital that blew her up. If she was even anywhere within a 50 mile radius of a hospital. Therefore, there was no reason for her manager to issue a statement about crap or even specify anything if she even indeed in the vicinity of a hospital.
A couple of aspirin and a sleeping pill — an overdose! Please! Can’t fall for that since I’ve been known to have a headache and insomnia at the same time on numerous occasions. I guess the stupid among us may fall for this but, not your girl here.

You have a point there. This could be a publicity stunt. But if it is, then I think it’s time for her to get new management. Most people would connect some type of a stigma to being suicidal. That’s not the image you want to portray in this industry.
Sorry but “Tasia” has always struck me as being ghetto and I don’t think she had the class to handle fame. Sometimes God allows us to choose our own problems. She was given a blessed opportunity and decided to blow it. I hope she recovers but more than likely she pulled this stunt because the guy probably went back to his wife…how things start are usually how they end…
