*The ESSENCE Music Festival is here, well on TV One that is. Star-studded, two-hour special produced in conjunction with ESSENCE includes performances by Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Earth, Wind & Fire, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, Gladys Knight and more.
TV One will broadcast the July 2-4 New Orleans celebration on Aug 29 from 9-11 p.m. for all those who weren’t able to attend, but it’s for one night only folks. So catch it while you can. This will be the second time in a row the network partners with Essence to broadcast the special.
“ESSENCE is pleased to partner once again with TV One for what will be an even bigger and better original television event than our first special in 2009,” said ESSENCE President Michelle Ebanks. “This entertaining and inspiring special will take the Essence Music Festival experience straight from New Orleans into the living rooms of fans all over the country, and will even provide a backstage pass that will allow every viewer to experience VIP treatment.”
“Based on the special’s performance last year, our viewers clearly love the Essence Music Festival, and it’s no wonder why: Michelle Ebanks, Angela Burt-Murray and their ESSENCE team have created an amazing cultural – and musical – event,” said TV One President and CEO Johnathan Rodgers. “We are delighted to bring our viewers a taste of the experience, with a front-row seat to the most incredible music concert they could ever imagine.”
