Video: Black Rob Goes in on Diddy

Black Rob

*Black Rob is lashing out at Diddy, again. He started up his beef again, saying the Bad Boy family is corrupted by its daddy Diddy.

“I always thought it was a family situation,” Rob told Thisis50.com, explaining that when he went to prison, no one from Bad Boy even bothered to pay him a visit.

“All the people up at Bad Boy, none of them reached out to me. None of them even cared. [...] All those years we spent together? That s— ain’t mean nothing to you dawg? You actually think I’m not your man? That right there told me that n—- was never my man. Ever.”

His rant didn’t stop there of course. He also shed a little light on G-Dep and their strained relationship.

“I had a conversation with Puff like, ‘Yo, that’s my artist!” he exclaimed. “Even though I didn’t have any of the paperwork, he just snatched him from me. That’s some sucka s—.”

But of course Diddy ain’t gonna let that slide without a response. In the new fall issue of Vibe, he attempted to clarify some things.

“Like, all this year I’ve heard people say, ‘Where’s Carl Thomas, where’s Black Rob, where’s G.Dep? Where are these artists?” Diddy alleges. “And for some reason they go ahead and equate that, cause those artists aren’t with me, that I’ve done something wrong or malicious or conniving. It’s something that I do have a problem with because they don’t have no proof that I’ve ever done nothing like that.”

Hmmmm, another disgruntled ex artist of the Bad Boy empire??? I wonder what really happened with all of those artists ??

  2. well maybe if he hadn’t taken his black azz to jail in the first place he wouldn’t have to worry about people coming to visit him!

I’m sorry, Everyone, but I don’t trust Diddy for nothing in the world. As for this Black Rob dude – I don’t know much about him but didn’t that rapper Shyne lament the same damn thing? I hear diddy’s recording contracts are ironclad and damn near impossible to come out of until he releases you which is why [with the exception of Faith Evans and Mary J. Blige] alot of his artist just shelved once’s he done with them and we never hear from them again; I can’t think of the name of that one male group he had that talked about this. Diddy is a egomaniac! When he said he wanted Simon’s job on American Idol “for the money” all I could think was damn dude you still chasing it like dat? So, being at the top of Forbes list repeatedly for making millions is not enough, huh?

    • @MrUnapologetic69 i agree with you about puffy…i can’t stand him & wouldn’t trust him as far as i could throw him so my posts wasn’t in defense of puffy at all. he appears to be as shady as an oak tree.

    • I agree, but damn EUR!! Newsflash, that ain’t even Black Rob in the picture posted…THAT’S G-DEP!! LMAO!!

Yeah, Diddy is a piece of shit for the way he treats his artist, especially the ones who were there in the hot days of Bad Boy helping him build the label. Diddy made those street dudes & girls feel like they were family & gave them that “we are family” shit until he had no more use for them. True enough Black Rob was an idiot for carrying on like he did to the point that he found his ass in prison and no Diddy had no obligation to visit him while he was in there, but out of some form of respect & friendship or for no other reason than their close business relationship he should’ve written, visited, or accepted calls from him.

I look at Diddy right now & how he’s trying to jump on-board with every hot artists now instead of putting out the projects of the many artists that he still has on his own label & who need to be doing something to make some money. The shit is disgusting how he kissing the ass of these artist just to stay relevant. Like I told a dude the other day, if these rap dudes stop fucking with Diddy just watch his ballon burst. Everything that makes him right now is because of hip-hop 1st. Hip-hop heads support everything that he has going on for the most part from his over-priced but damn good liquor to his clothing line, to his club appearances, shows, etc. Diddy needs to kiss the asses of Rick Ross, Lil Wayne (funny he found time to visit him in prison but would visit his own artist), etc.

At this point anybody who deals with Diddy should know that it’s mainly because it’s going to be more beneficial for him than you by a longshot. The guy was such a piece of work back in the days that he would steal production credits which equal money that he would get paid from his own artist budget for doing absolutely nothing on the production side or at best according to some or the producers he might come in when the damn track is finished & tell them add a some minor bullshit to the beat and for that he’d make himself a co-producer & get paid for it. Fuck Diddy!!

Who are the artists bashing Diddy? Shine? Black Rob? And their contribution to the legacy of bad boy is what?

How has it worked out for Mary, Faith, and in some way lil Kim?

If these artists don’t have enough sense to look at their contracts BEFORE they sign them, then they deserve to get taken for whatever their worth. Diddy has been in business for a minute now. His reputation is known. Why volunatarily go work for a drug lord, then complain that when you are arrested for possession.

I have long heard tall tales of Diddy’s ways but despite it, he seems to always end up ahead of the game.

    • Herbs my dude, I have said the EXACT SAME THING. We will both be bashed because of this. People STILL CHOOSE to sign with Puff knowing how he is. How can you blame him? Puff Daddy is cool in my book, but I would never go to a label where the CEO wants to be a star like Puff Daddy. Dude has been in the limelight since day 1. Besides, Puff made those artists hot for a second. If those artists are so good/talented, why haven’t we heard from them again. Word to Craig Mack

      • musbdherbs says:

Yeah right, like the New Edition fallout. People blamed DIDDY for new edition’s noncomeback. This is a group who found fame in the 80′s. If they, w/all the years under their belts, don’t know how to get the best contract/representation, that’s not a Diddy problem. It’s a New Edition one….

        • I agree. Even though we all love (NO HOMO) New Edition and stuff. Their time is over. Sure they have hits and can perform here and there, but their days of selling records and being in the spotlight are over. Look at all of the other Bad Boy artists minus a few, after they left/got dropped Bad Boy, they are not scene again, not even independently. Why is that?

  5. Well, it hasn’t always worked out for Mary J, Faith and Lil Kim. If you remember, Mary J and Diddy were on the outs for a LOOONNNGG time b/c he tried to fukk Mary over on her contract, but Mary got smart, got lawyered up and moved on. Faith Evans, The Lox and 112 had to do the same things to get out of their Bad Boy contracts so they could move on. At the time they said Diddy was too busy trying to do his solo thing to properly market them as he should have per their contracts, so when their projects weren’t promoted and didn’t do so well, he shelved them, but still held them to their contracts hindering their ability to go elsewhere and continue to make $$. So, Black Rob is just another one of those. Hell, he should have learned from Shyne, as Diddy abandoned him too after he went to jail. This is why I hope that any artist considering Diddy going forward come to the table lawyered up to go over any contract with a very fine tooth comb. I think Diddy knows the business and if he can get over that is what he will do.

    • musbdherbs says:

The names you mention are memorable names for Badboy. Regardless of where they are now, it is their association with the label that got them there.

Unless Diddy was also in charge of A&R, I dont’ see how his lack of marketing for them is to blame. If the label didn’t invest enough in their own artists, isn’t that to the detriment of the label itself? If a project doesn’t do well, what sane business person wouldn’t shelve it? I challenge you to find a label who allows their artists to void contracts when the numbers don’t look good for them.

Guess what’s gonna happen to Whitney in the near future?

    • …and whatever happened to DA BAND?? For a second it looked like they were gonna do somethin’. That saga of “Makin’ The Band” was one of the few reality shows I watched regularly. We ain’t heard JACK from them since they put out their second (I think) CD. It was an education to see what went down, and they DEFINITELY made quite a few mistakes. One mistake that always sticks out in my mind is when they hired someone from Puff’s staff to be their manager. But I know that that’s a no-no because someone from the Bad Boy camp can’t be objective when it comes to hard-nosed contract negotiations and the like. There’s too much of a conflict of interest. How are you gonna stay on his ass when it comes to certain when he’s your boss??

  6. While Ditty may not be trustworthy, the question is what music executive is? For the most part you’re talking about an industry of egomanics. People seek fame because they want the attention; most of the time it’s all about ME ME ME. Diddy is really no difference than the rest, he’s just more open about it.

  7. First of all Diddy is CEO, President of his own empire. He does not have time to keep up with grown folk doing childish things. If “you” do a crime, “you” do the time. If “you” got an addiction, then “you” gotta get ova that. If “you” hungry and wanna get paid, then “you” gotta go get paid. Erbody say diddy, this, diddy, that…Diddy is “on to the next” and “you” should be to. Some blac men always waitin for a handout – if “you” plant your own seeds, “your” harvest will grow – and no one can stop that, not even Diddy.

  8. So what? You were in jail fool. Who wants to visit a jail idiot. These people are out trying to make money. You the one stupid. Don’t nobody with good sense believe that “down with the hood” nonsense except a fool. LOL
