Village People Cop Considered for ‘Idol’ Judge?

*Victor Willis, the police officer from the Village People, says he is also in the running to become a judge on “American Idol.”

He claims he recently had a meeting with show execs who told him that he’s a “dark horse candidate.” The singer tells TMZ he’d be the “best choice” to replace Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell because he was “the original idol judge for the selection of the Village People talent” back in 1977.

Despite Willis’ claims, EUR has learned exclusively that Jennifer Lopez is a lock for the judging panel (after Elton John turned it down), Randy Jackson is definitely returning, and the final chair will go to either Steven Tyler or returning executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.

Lythgoe, we are told, will not announce the new judging lineup until after he wraps work on his other Fox reality series, “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Victor Willis was a member of The
Village People? I have heard ot the group but seriously! will anyone know who he is or worse yet remember him at all? AI is kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel for someone to be on the judges panel. Over the last 4 to 5 years they have really scraped the bottom of the talent pool considering the awful contestants that are selected to contend for the crown and they are mediocre at best. I hope the execs sit down and come to the conclusion that the show is past it’s prime and let this season be it’s swan song.

  2. This crackhead is lying through his teeth…. when have the village people been relevant recently…… Ed Lover would say ” COME ON SON! GET THE FUKK OUTTA HERE WITH THAT SHAT!”

Really???? I can imagine why AI would ever consider this guy as a judge for the show. He wasn’t that relevant back when the group was popular. I guess stranger things could happen. NOT!!!!
