*Singer/actress Aaliyah, who was killed in a plane crash in 2001, will be honored at The Dash Gallery in Tribeca, NYC, thanks to former lover, Damon Dash. He is asking artists to submit their works by Nov. 1 to be included in the momentous collection.

“We are looking for art work that captures Aaliyah’s essence and strength as an artist,” reads a bulletin from the gallery.

Dash opened the gallery in February to showcase young talent. It’s all a part of his business enterprise, which includes BluRoc music label and Creative control print and graphics shop.

Submissions for the Aaliyah exhibit cost $20 and will not be reviewed without payment. The Dash Gallery is located at 172 Duane St., New York, NY 10013.
