*Memorial services have been announced for artist Varnette P. Honeywood, whose vibrant paintings of African American life famously graced the set of “The Cosby Show.”

Honeywood died Sunday in a Los Angeles hospital after a two-year battle with cancer, one of her cousins, Jennell Allen, said Tuesday. She was 59.

A “Celebration of Life” viewing will take place in Inglewood, Calif. on Thursday, Sept. 23 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary (3801 W. Manchester Blvd.).

Funeral Services will be held the following day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Messiah Baptist Church (4500 West Adams Blvd.)
