Nat Adderley Jr. plays the piano, set to perform from dad and uncle's songbook

*On October 9th, to premiere the “Music of Cannonball and Nat Adderley” set, jazz musician Nat Adderley Jr. will put on a performance that all the people of Mobile could enjoy.

Nat Adderley, Jr., son of famous jazz performer Nat Adderley, Sr. and nephew of one of the most prolific figures in the history of jazz Cannonball Adderley, will put on a concert featuring selections from the famous Adderley songbook. Rounding out his quintet is cornetist Longineu Parsons, saxophonist Diron Holloway, bassist Trevor Ware and drummer Roy McCurdy.

Special guests for this evening at the Mobile Arthur R. Law Convention Center include Mobile’s first lady of song, Lil Greenwood, accompanied by legendary saxophonist and Alabama Music Hall of Fame Achiever, Theodore Arthur, Jr. and his Trio.

The show will include timeless classics such as “Autumn Leaves,” “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” “Jive Samba” and other Cannonball and Nat Sr. classics.

This concert marks the first of the Jazz Renaissance in Mobile Concert Series. ““Mobile was really where jazz began, and it’s fitting that major performances with both national and local jazz artists be again presented in a first class manner,” Director of Marketing Milton Joyner, said.

Tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations, including the Mobile Civic Center Box Office. Portions of the proceeds go towards the Prince of Peace Catholic Church Capital Campaign. Show time is at 8 PM, and doors open at 7 PM.
