*Phones have gone from a simple “riiing, riiing” to now hollering “the Soooouuuul Train!”

As one of the most famous television shows Soul Train celebrates its 40th anniversary, Time Life has released the music show’s most known phrases as ringtones. Through major ringtone carriers like iTunes, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Myxer, people can purchase the theme song “The Soooouuuul Train!” and Don Cornelius key phrase “Love, Peace and Soul” for whenever someone gives them a call.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us to bring Soul Train to life in a way that fans can have fun and enjoy on a daily basis,” Soul Train Holdings CEO Kenard Gibbs said.

In 1970, Soul Train went into syndication with various stations around the country and in no time became something like a ceremonial event in almost every Black home when it aired. When it ended its running in 2006, the show became the longest first-run television series in syndication history.

The show had one of the biggest influences on Black culture and American culture as well. It was a launchpad for superstar performances, outrageous fashions, hip dances and the classic Soul Train Dance line. “Soul Train had the greatest artists, the hippest kids and of course Don Cornelius, but the moment someone mentions the show, I immediately think of the iconic Soul Train theme or Don’s signature phrase Love, Peace and Soul,” Mike Jason, Senior Vice President Retail, Time Life said.
