*Talk of a male version of ‘The View’ may be premature, according to insiders who say there is no such activity in the works.

A rep for comedian Alec Mapa, who has been put on the list of possible co-hosts of the supposed new show with former ‘Today’ personality Bryant Gumbel, says reports about the possible venture aren’t true.

“It’s not happening,” says Mapa’s agent, Aggie Gold. “I’ve been representing Alec for 30 years. I think I would have known if he were doing something.”

Sources claimed that “View” producers Bill Geddie and Barbara Walters were contemplating a male version of the daytime talk show. It had been previously reported that the show was in developmental stages. Gold says it’s something different.

“I called the executive producer [Geddie] at ‘The View,'” she tells PopEater. “He said to me they had talked about it in the past and were just throwing ideas around. He told me, ‘If we had anything concrete, we would have called you, of course.'”
