*Gabourey Sidibe has joined the cast of Eddie Murphy’s upcoming film “Tower Heist,” Deadline.com reports.
The film, also starring Ben Stiller, Alan Alda and Michael Pena, follows employees at a luxurious block of apartments who are scammed out of their pensions by one resident. The crooked character lives in the penthouse suite, where he is under house arrest, and has been stealing the life savings of the staff there. The employees – led by Ben’s building manager character – will team up in an attempt to out-smart the resident and get their money back.
Universal Pictures hope to start production of in New York next month, Deadline.com reports.
Meanwhile, Sidibe, 25, has been starring in Showtime’s “The Big C” since rising to fame with her Oscar-nominated title role in “Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.”
The actress will also appear in the feature film “Yelling to the Sky” next year.

i’ll go ahead & say she needs to lose weight to get it out of the way because someone will say it even though this article has nothing to do with her weight.

This is crucial. I want to support her but I do not know how long I can keep giving her a pass. It’s not like her acting is soooo amazing that she doesn’t need other attributes.
I enjoy her acting, but I want to enjoy her presence on screen aesthetically.
