*The former Tugaloo College music major’s well-controlled, jazzy vocals had “pro” written all over them as I observed her soft-spoken and shy demeanor belie her formidable vocal range and stun judges at the auditions for Sunday Best.
Two years later she is a label mate with Pastor Shirley Caesar and JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise.
Since the competition Reedy has steadily made industry appearances and performed some of the most coveted stages including Bobby Gospel and at Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Diva’s Simply Singing.
Of her signing, Reedy says:
“The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that God will take a stained nobody like me and allow my gift to make room for me,” she shared. “He has given me a platform to stand before great men and women and share my gift. For God to pick someone who’s still learning, still making mistakes, so imperfect and give me a platform before millions all over the world, it’s just an example of how great His unconditional love is! I’ve learned how to truly appreciate God’s love.”
Jessica Reedy’s album is slated to debut in the second quarter of 2011.
