*Domestic violence charges against Los Angeles Laker Matt Barnes have been cleared. In September, the ball player was arrested for allegedly laying hands on his girlfriend, Gloria Govan of “Basketball Wives.”

According to reports, a disconnected 911 call from their home prompted police to drop by the couple’s home. After arriving to the home, police reportedly observed some obvious injuries that led them to believe the couple had a physical confrontation. Barnes was arrested on felony domestic violence charges.

Govan said the allegations were incorrect from the start.

“Any accusation of domestic violence are false. My fiance, Matt Barnes, has never physically abused me or my family,” she said in a statement back in September.

The charges were dropped when the Sacramento DA determined that there was not enough proof to bring him to trial.

“The decision was made following additional investigation and was based on the insufficiency of the evidence,” the District Attorney said. “We were confident that no crime occurred and we think [the D.A.] made the right decision,” Tom Johnson, Barnes’ attorney, told TMZ.
