*The 3D fright film craze is about to kick into full swing this month. Legendary horror master Wes Craven has thrown his hat in the arena with “My Soul to Take,” which opens today, October 8.
EURweb.com happened to be in the mix at a recent Los Angeles event and happened across young Denzel Whitaker (“The Great Debaters”) who stars in the film. He graciously gave us the rundown.
“The movie is about the Riverton 7 that you see on the poster,” he explained. “To put it in short, 16 years ago this guy with multiple personality disorder dies. Is killed actually, and he had seven souls inside of him. On that night seven kids are born. In the whole movie we’re trying to decide if his soul is inhabiting one of those seven kids, or did his soul come back to life to haunt the seven kids? It all revolves around the seven kids and this negative soul.”
As with all Wes Craven offerings, “My Soul to Take” is not for the faint of heart. If you’re wondering whether Whitaker is the only brother in the film, you’re not alone. We were wondering the same thing.
“I am the only brother in the film,” laughed Whitaker. “Does the brother die first in the film? You know what? You will be happy. I will say this much, you will be happy to know, EURweb, that the brother does not die first.”
Okay, we are happy to know the brother does not die first in the film, but does the brother die at all?
“You know what? I’m not even going to tell you that. You will be happy to know that … and that’s all I’m going to tell you because I don’t want to give the movie away.”
Dang, yet another respectable actor/actress that does not want to give away the ending of a highly anticipated film. What is the world coming to?
Again, “My Soul to Take” opens in theaters nationwide this weekend. With 3D technology we bet Wes Craven’s imagination makes you jump out of your seat.
