*One can only wonder what’s up with NBA player Steve Francis. Francis, who at one time was at the top of his game, and now looks to be near the end of his career, was recently arrested at LAX.

Authorities at Los Angeles International Airport say the three-time NBA all-star was taken into custody for alleged public drunkenness.

Airport spokesman Albert Rodriguez says Francis was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Thursday because he was intoxicated, unable to care for himself and combative toward staff.

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department records show Francis posted $10,000 bail and was released around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5, according to an AP report.

The 33-year-old averaged 18.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists in nine seasons with Houston, the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks. He was an All-Star in 2002, 2003 and 20
