NBC Orders Full Season of ‘Event,’ ‘L&O: LA’

Blair Underwood in NBC's "The Event"

*Great news for Blair Underwood and Terrence Howard.

Despite just lukewarm ratings, NBC has decided to take a chance on their respective freshman dramas.

“The Event,” which stars Underwood as U.S. president Elias Martinez, is getting a full-season pickup along with “Law & Order: Los Angeles,” which stars Howard as deputy district attorney Jonah “Joe” Dekker.

The network also gave a vote of confidence Monday to its new sitcom “Outsourced.”

None of the series has posted stellar ratings in a season in which new shows have struggled to attract viewers. But NBC noted that “The Event” and the Los Angeles-set “Law & Order” have improved ratings in their time slots, while “Outsourced” is doing well with advertiser-favored young adult viewers. The network finished fourth last season.

NBC’s “The Event” airs 9 p.m. EDT Monday, “Law & Order: Los Angeles” is on 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday, and “Outsourced” airs Thursday at 9:30 p.m. EDT.

Good! now The Event and L&O LA will both have a fighting chance to find and keep their audiences.

  2. Although I’ve been unable to watch either drama I’m glad for them both. I have been able to watch Undercovers and enjoy it. I hope it is given the same opportunity to prove itself.
