*(Los Angeles) – Former ‘Uplifting Minds II” talent competition winner female rapper PYT came back to win two awards for Best Vocalist and Best Songwriter at the recent Los Angeles event hosted by KDAY 93.5’s DJ Surreal.

Competition judge Florence LaRue (5th Dimension) gave on-point advice that was immediate seen by the audience.  The showcase was the second part of the entertainment conference that started with seminars, such as the one hosted by talent agent Gwyn Foxx on being a “Dream Player.”

Foxx also served as judge at the talent competition along with legends (radio personality) Lee Bailey and (platinum selling) Florence LaRue.

“Come tell me off,” Grammy Award winning performer Ms. LaRue said to winner PYT – which she immediate did with a passion. “Now go back on stage and do it again with that said attitude.”

Immediately the audience could see the difference in her performance. So much so that the judges whole-heartedly decided to give her both the vocal and songwriting awards. As publisher Lee Bailey said, “She deserves both.”

Talent/casting agent and image consultant Gwyn Foxx had the seminar audience getting in touch with who they are. She told them to “find your passion … who you really are.” At the end of the seminars one USC student who attended may have been confused as to whom he really was when he came in, but he clearly had more insight by the time he left.

The entertainment conference was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center West Hall Theater and will be back to L.A.  in June and October, as well as to Baltimore in April at Sojourner-Douglass College for the 2011year.

Rapper PYT will also receive a free music video courtesy of Ben Foster (; free music track from four-time ULMII winner VIP (; 30 minutes free legal consultation from Paul Gardner II, Esq. ( and Richard Jefferson, Esq. (; a slot as an opening act for L.A. Urban R&B singer/songwriter Trueful (; 50% off marketing and promotions of social media pages by Boosweet Records (, and vocal coaching from vocalist Nadiyah Kareem (Superstar Entertainment).
