  1. I am reposting my post from yesterday.

Good Morning Friends. I hope all is well. I just found out that my cousin has a great chance of getting drafted to play pro football. I am so happy for him  and pray that this happens for him. He has had a hard life.

OAN…..Sometimes men don’t age well. I went to a party Friday night and saw a bunch of football players I went to Vandy with. One in particular who used to play pro football now looks like Jamie Foxx in the Soloist. Damb, alcohol and possibly drugs is not your friend. What is sad is that I don’t think he realizes how fvked up he looks or he wouldn’t wear his hair like that.

  2. I hope she doesn’t take him back!

Reggie Bush regrets letting Kim go and desperately wants her back.

REGGIE Bush is feeling love sick!

Sources say the sexy sportsman wants to rekindle his romance with busty reality TV star Kim Kardashian, whom he split from earlier this year after dating on and off for the past few years.

“Reggie loves Kim,” a source said. “He misses her and wants her back. He thinks she feels the same way, which is why she’s jumping from relationship to relationship since their split.”

However, Bush will have to break some hearts if he and Kim do get back together — he’s rumored to be romancing budding singer Mayra Veronica.

When Kim and Reggie split in March, insiders believed they’d get back together.
“They are not done with each other,” a source said. “They have problems but they still love each other. I won’t be surprised to see these two get back together in a few weeks.

“Reggie is going to have to make the first move.
“She will wait ¬ and he will come.”

  3. WOW! I know it’s been a long time since I’ve been here, but I wasn’t ready for how much has changed! Everything looks so different…and my old username & password no longer work. Oh well…Good morning.

  4. Today’s CHOCOLATE JAM is “Love Love Love” by Hope

  5. Good morning family. What it do?

  6. Morning everyone.

  7. G’morning… I’ve been throwing up all night. Stupid Godfather’s pizza. :-(

*sorry if that was TMI this early in the morning

  8. Good Morning Everyone!

Jboy, it’s been a long time, good to “see” you!

  9. OJ – I’m gonna see a former NFL dude I used to go out with in college and I saw some pictures of him on fb last week and he is CHUNKY. He was a defensive lineman in college so he wasn’t a ‘small’ guy but he was really solid back then. Now he just looks like a big ol’ man since he retired from the league.

I think once that ‘professional dream’ is gone for some of them, they just kinda quit trying. :???:

  10. Sidenote: Can ya’ll believe I made bacon for the first time in my life this weekend and I’m sooooooooooooo good at it! I was REALLY proud of myself! Yesterday I made a special trip to the store just so I could make more bacon (he likes BLT’s). I’m turning in to a doggone pro chef!!

  11. Hey all…hope you all are well!
A special hey to segdirb–welcome to the new EUR…

Awe Lovely, I’m sorry you’re sick…that’s a miserable feeling! Praying that you’ll feel better. Are you working today?

  12. Pen – thanks lady… I am working today. I don’t really feel sick, just tired from being up & down all night and I feel super empty but I’m scared to eat anything.

Oh, it was actually funny at one point because I sat straight up in bed and started panicking. I thought I might forget how to breathe. I was sitting in bed trying to train my brain to inhale/exhale.
    PSYCHO!!

  13. Lovely, wow, AI has really fallen down:

Allen Iverson didn’t receive a training-camp invite from any NBA team this season.

Allen Iverson is moving closer to an agreement with Turkish team Besiktas on a one-year contract that could pay him as much as $2 million with bonuses, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

“We are in very serious negotiations with [Besiktas],” Iverson’s business manager Gary Moore told Yahoo! Sports. “Istanbul is beautiful from everything we’ve learned. It’s not that far from the U.S., and the competition is good which makes it all attractive.

More From Yahoo! Sports StaffFour-team trade for Anthony officially dead Sep 28, 2010 Miami’s Big Three forecast a bright future Sep 27, 2010 “Allen wants to play basketball.”

Besiktas sent a contract to Iverson on Monday and hopes he’ll sign it by week’s end. Still, one source said Iverson could take as long as 10 days to finalize the deal.

One stumbling block to an agreement over the weekend was Iverson’s reluctance to let Besiktas fine him beyond 1 percent of his $1.5 million base salary, a European source told Yahoo! Sports.

Iverson has solicited more lucrative offers to play in China this season, but has been intrigued with the prospects of playing in Istanbul. After tumultuous exits in his last three stops – Detroit, Memphis and Philadelphia – Iverson has exhausted all interest from NBA teams. Despite averaging 26.7 points in his 14-year NBA career, Iverson couldn’t even get a training camp invitation.

Besiktas is considered third among the three most powerful franchises in the Turkish first division and starts league play over the weekend. Besiktas has a strong following in Turkey, and team officials believe Iverson could be an immense gate draw.

Besiktas has had financial problems and, according to a report by Eurobasket.com, has recently been targeted by a suit brought by American player, Lonnie Baxter, and his agent, Brad Ames, for failure to pay salary and agent fees.

  14. Jacque – he hasn’t really fallen down (in my eyes), he just hasn’t realized that he should retire. He’s not as effective as he was 14 years ago when he entered the league.
To me, I think players should go out when they’re still on top. Like Shaq should have hung up his size 22′s a LONG time ago.
Folks love you when you’re hot and when you’re the high scoring, high flying superstar but as soon as you start to show signs of age, all they wanna do is talk sh*t about you.

A.I. is still a sexy beast in my eyes… he’s just a half step slower than these young cats, that’s all.

  15. Jazz – is he still in the league? I don’t remember hearing his name at all last season.

    • SLAM writer Bonsu Thompson caught up with Stevie this summer and talked about how Francis went from being on top of the world to slipping out the back door of the NBA. It was a very fascinating article indeed.

He said he currently has been busy with many different businesses: a construction company, boxing promotions, His “We R One” Urban clothing line that he cofound with Nick Van Exel and some other former players, a barber shop and most of all his DC Record Label. He only had some candid comments to say about his reunion with the Rockets during the 2007-2008 season, his release and buyout from Memphis. Claim that he is injury-free and is staying NBA ready. Some notable quotes I can remember that I’m paraphrasing.

“NBA players only have a small window, so when I started seeing stories about players going broke and then I had just seen some sh!t about Antoine Walker, I was like let me put my head into my business for my family.”

On how he keeps NBA-ready and a possible comeback: “My agent won’t allow me to go out and play streetball because I have nothing left to prove out there, so I work out at my court at home with my 2 yr old son … I’m still able to get out on the (NBA) court and bust somebody’s ass … If a team calls me up and is interested, give me two weeks and I’m ready to rock. The money has to be right though.”

On the Rockets: “They signed me back and they had me playing behind somebody that wasn’t even drafted–Skip to My Lou. You can’t let a three-time NBA all-star rot on the bench. It really rubbed me the wrong way.”

He also basically paraphrased that how the Rockets treated him during his second coming made him cynical towards NBA teams practices compared to back in the day. ie. how the NBA treats players, loyalty/respect and etc.

On getting signed to the Grizzlies and waived “Why would I need to showcase myself at this point and prove myself to a team that wasn’t winning and play behind two players (Mike Conley and Kyle Lowry at the time) that haven’t proven themselves? My agent worked out a deal to get me out of there…”

  16. Annnnnnnnnnnnd on the count of 3, everbody rise from the dead…

    2

    THREE!!!

  17. HersheysKiss says:

    Good day Jewels and Gems!

    What’s poppin’???

  18. HK – nothing (on this board)… Boomqueisha (sp?) keeps shutting the board down. I’m about to give up.

  19. *pops up* Hey fam!!!

  20. Word of the Day

    October 12

    gimcrack
    /JIM-krak/

    noun

: a showy object of little use or value : gewgaw

    EXAMPLE SENTENCES:
The silver yo-yo that Jerry kept on his office desk was a gimcrack he had won as a carnival prize many years ago.

“Know how many times you’re willing to stop and how much money you’re willing to spend on treats and souvenirs on the drive. If one hat, T-shirt orgimcrack is the limit, make sure they know to choose wisely.”

  21. How do you make bacon?

  22. Lovely, everytime I hear anyone talk about telling ppl to rise from the dead,it reminds me of this lady who went to my church many many years ago.

We were in revival, and the preacher was talking about the unbelief of ppl. He went to the scripture to relay how Jesus raised Lazarus from the grave. He broke it down by the various levels of disbelief. He was brung it. Got the folks all built up.

Finally, he said, ‘and despite all that disbelief from the followers, Jesus got to the grave and uttered those words…he spoke life into existance and said, Lazarus come forth!…and do you know what happened church? Do you know what happened church…” He said dispite those ppl who knew the power of Jesus, and knew what Jesus had done before, Jesus spoke life into Lazarus and Lazarus came forth!

Almost immediately, this woman jumps up and said, “He sho did, b/c I saw him last saturday!”

The church got as quiet as could be…finally, the preacher looked over at her and said, Satan the Lord rebukes you…

Me? Well I’ve told y’all how I will crack up in church. Lets just say, I had to leave early that night!

  23. UnSung was good last night. George Clinton is a wild dude. Seeing all the old neighborhoods in Plainfield NJ & Newark, NJ brought back a lot of memories. It’s still messed up that he sold (some people would say ripped-off) his publishing rights away. The man has had his music sampled over 1100 times by hip-hop artists. I knew it was a lot, but I didn’t know it was that much.

  24. I still remember the “Mothership Connection” tour back in 1977 where the spaceship came down to earth to bring the funk to all the “funkless” people on earth. I wanted to go sooo bad, but my mom wasn’t having it. I was so mad at her. (LOL!) Looking back, those actually were some good times.

  25. Is it me, or does today’s word look like “Gimme Crack”??? Good Morning Beautiful One’s! Happy Tuesday! Okay, I know it’s not FF, but I have GOT to share this little tidbit w/ y’all…Freaky Fact: (on twitter) Semen contains water, protein & fructose. It also gives a shot of calcium & potassium.   Wow! So, drink up america, it’s good for ya! LOL! If you’re on twitter, follow freaky fact, they really do give some freaky facts! Okay I’m done, just had to get that out…So, what’s the T? *scrolling up*

  26. GHank…they said his body of music is worth 150 million and he has nothing to show for it! He’s 70 and still touring…SAD and WOW!

    • It’s really sad because back in the day…P-Funk was all of that and a bag of chips! When Flashlight came out….it was a monster. What he should do is write a book.

  27. Using the word in a sentence:

George Clinton used a gimcrack pipe for his crack-rock.

  28. James’ gay boyfriend loved him some gimcrack!! ;o)

  29. HersheysKiss says:

LoveTrain– EUR needs to work with FB and Twitter creators to figure out a way to keep it UP AND RUNNING!! The only reason I torture myself is because I love you people so much.

Soooo Ewwey Gooey Chocolate will make an appearance this wkend???  I think he would love me if he knew me. ;-)

ANYWAY–Can someone who actually USES twitter explain to me its draw?

  30. HK – it’s next weekend. I’m TRYING to find a way to ‘not’ go since most of my kicking it crew won’t be there. I’d love to see Eeewy Gooey and a few of the other football players but our Sigma’s are planning everything and I think that’s why so many people aren’t coming.
And you’re right, he WOULD love you. He’s one of the nicest, realest (is that a word) dudes I know and he has a heart of gold. He wasn’t a beast like the rest of the team. He was always respectful and carried himself as more mature than most of the team.

  31. HersheysKiss says:

LoveTrain– EG is a Sigma? That’s surprises me a bit. *shrug*

Well let’s come up with some reasons for you not to make an appearance. LOL
    1. Something suddenly came up.
    2. I’m going to a birthday funeral
3.I got tickets to see Maxwell -front seat
    4. My Grandmother was expecting me to cook and clean her house.
    5. I got so much sex I can barely walk.
    6. The Sigmas are planning it.

  32. >hersh, the main reason I’m on there is to read what my favorite celebrities are talking about. I reply sometimes and sometimes they tweet back (not often) but it’s interesting to me to hear what they do daily. I’m such a groupie… :| >ghank, I missed Unsung last night, but I dvr’d it so I’ll catch it tonight. I saw George Clinton a few months ago and he was HORRIBLE!!! We walked out on him and he was the headliner! His stage presence was terrible and he had some 50+ y/o woman dressed in a tight as wax booty short, metallic jumpsuit pumpin her cooch on the stage for no damn reason! It was a hot & spicy mess! Then he sounded like he needed to hark up some phlem from his throat cuz he sounded HORRIFIC! I’ma need him to foreclose the mothership! Shut it DOWN! It’s over, you’re old as dirt, retire and collect royalties…although I hear he sold ‘em for pennies. SMH Oh well, all was not a waste…Lady T & Cameo THREW DOWN!

    • There’s no doubt that George Clinton is definitely past his prime. I haven’t seen him in years, but I heard that his shows are nothing like they used to be. He’s touring to stay alive..(as one person put it) because he has no royalties coming in.

  33. HK – no, he’s a football player but he comes to homecoming every year regardless of who plans it. Most of the ‘popular’ football players come back for the games.

  34. HersheysKiss says:

AS12 –> Yeah…Uhhhhmmmm That’s not gonna happen. G. Clinton CANNOT collect royalties. He’s broke. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch! He MUST tour and perform to stay afloat.

  35. 12…was George Clinton’s backup dancer your coworker? CTFU!!!!!!!!!  :o :o

  36. >hersh, that’s a mess…I guess it’s safe to say that he didn’t have a financial advisor.

  37. CTFU @ letmein!!! Naw, it wasn’t her…but that’s not far fetched!

  38. HersheysKiss says:

LoveTrain – But you must admit, those are those great excuses, yes?

  39. HK – I LOVE #5!! I think I’m gonna go with that one to get out of Friday night.
I’ll go Saturday afternoon but I’d rather hang with the old man Saturday night.
Only one girl is confirmed to be in town and I don’t want to be 1 of 2 chicks hanging out with a large group of drunk guys.

  40. WHO IS EWWEY GOOEY???

  41. I mentioned this yesterday but there were only 1.5 folks on the board. My 20 year class reunion is this weekend and I’m really excited! I’m looking forward to it…I’m just going to the happy hour tho, not going to the big shing-dig. I don’t care enough about the entire class, just my friends.

  42. public, celebrity crotch pumping should have an expiration date…

  43. >lovely, tell your girl Beyonce that! HA!

  44. HersheysKiss says:

Love Train- ’1 of 2 chicks hanging out w/ a large group of drunk guys.’ What’s wrong with that? J/K

Is Maaaaan going on Sat. afternoon too? Remember your promise to yourself: You are not going to feel obligated to do something if not interested. Love is taking care of Love.

BUT if you do see EG tell him I asked about him. LOL *just peeped his picture again* ;-)

  45. flytetime says:

Hello everyone…thought I would drop by to say that there are some very sexy pics of Craig David on ybf…he is looking so yummy!!!

  46. YLY – he’s a guy, HK will fill you in… (or I suppose I could email you). Check your mail after I hit ‘submit comment’ on this.

HK – thank you for bringing that up!! Nope, my man isn’t participating. His friends never come back for Homecoming so he never participates. One of them plays on his football team and another of them plays on his basketball team so he doesn’t need a special weekend just to see them.
You’re wonderful for reminding me to say no when I don’t want to do something! :-) I’ll see how I feel next weekend. I never bought my ticket to the game so it’ll be real easy to get out of it.

  47. CaliRedbone says:

    hey yall!!!

  48. Miz! How you be? Long time no hear from on the f4a.

  49. I hung out with creenj and her kids on Sunday. It was really great to see her and meet the little princess. Anyway, when we were departing and saying our goodbyes, her youngest son looks at me and says “Bye great-grandmom.” It was too cute and too funny.

  50. Why great grandmom? LOL!!! You just couldn’t be gradma? HA!!!

  51. Hi Cali!!

YLY – was he trying to say you look 123 years old?

  52. Boom must be on her crack break. I had to push submit 50-11 times for that last comment…

  53. 12!!!! I just saw your comment about Beyonce. She is one of the greatest entertainers in the game today. If she wants to thrust her crotch, so be it. Zillions of people all over the world love it.

I bet if you had a pistol to your head and the person said “who pumps their crotch better, George Clinton or Beyonce?”, you would definitely scream Beyonce!

  54. letmein – I did too…
Lord help Boom if I ever meet her!!

  55. Lovely…unless we’re up in the skank strip bar looking at chicks with bullet wounds in their asses, I doubt we’ll ever see her…

  56. hahahahaa!! That probably IS where she goes everyday for lunch! She’s moonlighting to earn a few extra dollars.

  57. HersheysKiss says:

Not a skank strip bar and bullet wounds!! DAYUM That’s real rough!!!

  58. HK – I don’t think she liked that because I just got kicked out again.

  59. >lovely, yes, Beyonce is a great entertainer, I’m not disputing that. But she’s gonna need hip surgery in about 10 more years if she continues her famous pelvic thrust!

  60. *waving hard* Hey Cali!!!

  61. we ALL thrust like B at some point (at least I know I do)…

  62. Wow, we’ve got JBoy, flytetime and CaliRedbone coming out of lurking today. We should have a gazillion posts by now.

  63. (CNN) — Eddie Ding Dong, the controversial Georgia bishop, has been sued for defaulting on a property loan in Georgia.

A lawsuit on Monday asked DeKalb County State Court in the Atlanta area to order Long and others to pay off the $1.9 million debt in 10 days or be obligated to pay attorney’s fees as well as the principal and interest.

  64. Jacque – I finally watched Grey’s this weekend. I see what you mean about not eating during the show. I almost threw up my pizza looking at that man. omg. soooooooo not ready for that!!

  65. Lovely, but it was a good show, right?

  66. Speaking of Ding Dong, asize12 have you seen the pictures from the set of the new season of The Game on FB?

  67. YLawdY, NBC has axed Outlaw already.

  68. Where did everyone go?

  69. HersheysKiss says:

YLY is about to be devastated!! What they need to cancel is ANYTHING with Blair Underwood!

  70. HK, what? You don’t like Blair?

  71. Say it aint so! I LIKE that show. I LOVE Jimmy Smits.

  72. Jacque…the website says their moving it to Saturday at 8. I’m so confused!

  73. NBC has officially pulled the plug on Jimmy Smits’ struggling rookie procedural Outlaw. The Friday-night legal drama, which was already on a production hiatus, will be replaced by a second hour of Dateline. The final four episodes will air Saturdays at 8 pm beginning this week. Any questions?

  74. Jacque – I had to get training on this new system… I’m back now.
Yep, the show was good. Told ya’ll it would get better :-)

I still haven’t watched Boris’ show yet… is that the one that was cancelled?

  75. Thank you Jacque. I knew I could count on you to clear it up. I’m mad now!

  76. I’m craving cheesecake with cake on top and pie for icing.

  77. No Lovely, that’s not Boris’ show, but it may be next in line.

Here’s the thing, and it’s just my opinion, NBC is the only major network that has 3 shows with minority leads (Blair Underwood in The Event, Boris Kodjoe in Undercovers and Jimmy Smits in Outlaw). None of them are the typical buffoonery they sometimes typecast us in nor is it any reality show drama. I know we all have different tastes when it comes to TV shows, but I choose to watch or at least have the TV on the station when the show airs so it can get ratings. All of “our” shows shouldn’t have to be on BET or TV One.

  78. Jacque – I thought that stuff was all measured by Nielsen (sp?) ratings and you have to actually be a Nielsen household with a Neilsen recording box in order for it to be counted.

  79. Regarding the rescue of the Chilean miners which is supposes to be late today when they start rescuing one miner at a time, I wonder who decides who is going to be first.

  80. You know what Lovely, you are probably right. Where is my box? Have you ever had one?

  81. Jacque, they said they have cameras to watch inside and make sure no one panicks… Hopefully they’ll rescue kinda like a triage — the oldest/sickest/craziest first…

  82. >lovely, yeah, I must say, I do my share of pelvic thrusting…however, it is in the privacy of my bedroom…or kitchen…or living room…or…*waving* Hey jac! Girl YES, I saw the pics for the Game on twitter and I’m counting down the seconds! I am SUCH A STAN for The Game!!!

  83. RANDOM: I want to play the piano again just to learn the piano piece in Rick Ross’ song. I’m such the nerd….

  84. Letmein – no bigger nerd than my man… he wants to learn piano so he can walk into Nordstrom and start playing and have all the white folks go “ooooohhhh, black people can play the piano”.

He even has his ‘performance outfit’ planned out…

  85. Tell crip walker to tell me when it’s going down and I’ll be there front and center!! I wonder if they’ll let us smoke cigarettes. Piano playing ain’t piano playing if you ain’t in a smoky place somewhere. :|

  86. Letmein – that ninja has to find time to take some lessons first!! He tried to play a keyboard a while back and it sounded sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad! We all got a good laugh!

  87. But once he DOES learn to play, you can smoke cigs and I’ll lay on top and drink whiskey.

  88. Jacque….I had a Nielsen box YEARS ago. Plugged it up and forgot about it. Periodically checks would arrive in the mail for like $9 or something. I would think that with all the advances in cable, they would be able to tell what’s being watched without a box. *going to google*
