So it begins….y’all know my son goes to a Catholic school but we are Baptist. I received an email from his religion teacher yesterday. I guess baby boy has been standing firm in his belief to say the least. Their assignment was to learn the Lord’s Prayer. He’s known that for years but I’m assuming the Catholic version does not include For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, Amen. Well of course when it’s my son’s turn to recite it, he includes it. I guess she took of points because of it and the battle was on. Basically he told her he would NOT misquote the Bible and even went as far as to show her where it was written in the Bible…LOVE THAT KID….anyway, she let that slide. Now they are reciting other prayers. It was my son’s turn to do Hail Mary (oooo, please say that’s the name of the prayer and I’m not just saying a Tupac song…LOL)and he refused to recite it. He told her that was like praying to someone else and that was idolotry…..LOVE THAT KID…she went on the give kudos to our pastor and his counselor but also said we need to do something because that’s a big part of his religion grade. Next they are learning the Prayer of Contriction (?) and asked me to look it over and discuss it with him. Oh boy….
So I just googled the Prayer of Contrition. Homeboy shouldn’t have a problem with it. Whew! LOL!!!!
Good for your son. I’ve attended catholic school in my life but was too young to know or even care to realize the huge differences between Catholicism and Protestant beliefs. His religion grade may take a hit but I’m glad to see he knows his faith.
I can’t begin to tell you the problems I have with Catholicism. They are very paganistic to say the very least.

BET HIP HOP AWARDS:
~ I sooooooo love Diddy! That dude is the hustler of the century and he still makes it all look like so much fun. I love how he has reinvented himself with Dirty Money and how he was kicking it HARD in the front row. Even though he’s the 2nd richest rap dude, he looks like he’s still having fun. I love that!
~ Rick Ross – that buffalo butt was my fav performance of the night. I love BMF and I was in the living room kicking it.
~ Mike Epps is a cutie to me and he CGI. For real.
~ Waka Flocka is missing 3 chromosomes.
~ The Sipher’s were all hot. Loved the one Raekwon did, the one Kanye/Common did and the one Busta did. Diggy is turning in to some eye candy but his flow is wack (and JoJo’s is extra wack). I’m surprised I didn’t like Cube’s flow… it sounded too basic.
~ I’m a Nicki Minaj fan and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
I cant’ freakin’ believe I missed my baby daddy Cube!!! I was helping baby boy with homework and the rule is TV OFF!! UGH!! But Lovely, I bet to differ, I hated all the performances even though I’ll shamefully admit that I like most of the songs. I guess I get more results in my car with my 15 inch speakers and my 1000 watt amp. I did love the freestyles though!! That was the best part IMO HANDS DOWN!!! I’ll have to check it out again over the weekend because I did miss a few things.

Letmein – the only performance (besides the freestyle siphers) I liked was Rick Ross. I did get up and dance with the ‘teach me how to dougie’ boys and I did the humpty dance. Other than that, it was definitely pretty wack.
I didn’t see Nicki Minaj perform, I changed the channel at 9 to watch “Chopped” on Food Network (that’s my show!!). I’m just sayin I like her as an artist… she’s fun & new & crazy.
I saw the last 2 seconds of Digital Underground. TOO MAD ABOUT THAT!
Oh and the 5 seconds I saw of Nicki she was doing that rapid blinking stuff and high pitched talking. Um….

Last night I didn’t think any of the chefs did a good job and none of them were innovative. Madison is the greatest chef I’ve ever seen on Chopped… he said all food reminds him of women. I love the way his mind works!! (granted, I wouldn’t eat half the sh*t he cooks but I love the way he puts things together and I love how he’s supportive of the other chefs. he just seemed like a good dude. PLUS, did you know he used to be homeless?)

Good morning BBP’s! Happy Humpday! So, I dvr’d the EBT Hip Hop Awards on purpose cuz I knew I’d be fast-forwarding the performances. Although I did watch the 1st performance, Rick Ross and kept wondering why the hell is Puffy up there!!!
The awards were WIGGETY-WIGGETY WACK as usual! Nicki Minaj is Cybil, but that’s her gimmick so I guess she’s cool with that. 
She’s so overrated to me! The highlights of the night were Kanye, Common & their cypher, Ice-Cube & Run w/ their cypher, MC Hammer, Salt n Pepa receiving award (no tribute, wtf???), and Digital Underground performing the Humpty Dance & I Get Around. Hip-Hop is SOOOOOO dead! RIP Hip Hop…

See, that’s one of the only issues I have with sending J to a Catholic school cuz we’re Christian and we don’t practice a lot of things that they do. Which brings me to my next conversation piece…R wants J to go to a high school that has a football team cuz he’s been playing since he was 7 and he’s good at it and loves it. My thing is, football & any other sport are all considered a privilege to me…education is what’s important. But at the same time, he could receive scholarships for sports (he plays basketball too). He’s currently in the magnet school system, been in it for about 8 years. I don’t too much care for the magnet school high schools, except for one, Metro. And it’s one of St. Louis’ top schools. Was featured in Ebony Magazine & everything! It’s a great school…but, they don’t have a football team. *sigh* So now R & I are going back & forth on what school to send him to. I say Metro cuz it’s a top school and he can just play basketball, he says Brentwood which is a deseg school that he qualifies to go to. I like Brentwood too, but Metro is one of the top schools. Also, he may have an opportunity to attend Cardinal Ritter, which is a private Catholic school that’s one of the most reasonable schools in St. Louis. Now, even though it’s one of the most reasonable, it’s still $600 per mo. and I’m not sure if we can swing that much so we’re applying for scholarships & fin. aid. If we can get assistance, we could possibly swing it. But, even though it’s a good school, it’s gonna be difficult to save for college when we’re paying for high school tuition. So, we have about a month to make a decision. Lord please help us to make the right decision!!!
size…i’m with you about the education piece of it. that’s my main my priority. have you checked out greatschools.org? it’s really good at give you school ratings. you can compare the schools and see how the scored compared to state averages on certain state tests. that has been a HUGE factor in finding a high school for my son.

12 – I had 2 friends graduate from Cardinal Ritter. I’m not sure if it makes a difference on your decision but they both used to talk about that school like it was the shiz-nit.

Has anyone watched the new TV Show “Detroit 187″? I don’t watch too much TV with maybe the excetion of TVOne, but this show seems to catch my eye. I thought the first 2 shows were pretty good. I may follow this show.

12 – I just have noooooooooooooo patience for dumb sh*t. She emails me the most ridiculous stuff every day like I don’t know what the heck I’m doing. I almost reminded her one day that I managed a department of 29 people who do what she does for 8 years… she doesn’t need to tell me how to do my job. I’m doing it and I’m doing it so well I make HER look good.
