*Akon, who appears with Michael Jackson in his latest track “Hold My Hand,” disagrees with will.i.am’s belief that the release of the King of Pop’s posthumous album is disrespectful.
As previously reported, will.i.am told EW of the upcoming “Michael” CD, “Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are … He just wasn’t any ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me it’s disrespectful. There’s no honoring.”
Akon tells TMZ he “honestly disagrees” with the Black Eyed Peas frontman, adding, “I don’t see anything disrespectful about it … these albums would have come out if [MJ] was alive or dead so I think this helps to keep his legacy alive.”
Akon says working with Michael on “Hold My Hand” was a “dream come true … it was epic.”
