*President Obama is wasting no time extending the olive branch to the now large and in charge Republicans.
He has invited the new GOP Congressional leadership, including incoming House Speaker John Boehner, to a Nov. 18 meeting at the White House.
On the agenda: the lame-duck session and what to do about the Bush tax cuts, scheduled to expire in the new year.
“This is going to be a meeting in which I want us to talk substantively about how we can move the American people’s agenda forward,” Obama said Thursday, after a meeting with his Cabinet officials. “It’s not just going to be a photo-op. Hopefully it may spill over into dinner.”
